History

In the 80s, called "THE Thomas Electronique SA", the company was active in the development and production of electronic boards, prototypes and small series of tailor-made machines. Its main line of business was in the industries of cables and tubes.

During its expansion, the company changed its name while its activities in machinery production grew rapidly. Under the name THE Thomas Machines SA, the first complete high speed production line for drip irrigation pipes was carried out in Couvet (Switzerland).

Combining the powerful electronic systems with Laser technology and networking the production equipment brought ground-breaking technologies in addition to the excellent mechanical build quality and long life-span of the lines.

The company took a major step forward to further enhance the productivity of the drip irrigation pipe lines. While maintaining an optimal quality, yet increasing the production speed up to fourfold compared to older generations. We consider ourselves as a world leader in this area.

Facing the increasing pace of production and the multiplication of its customers around the world, the company moved into the industrial zone of Yvonand. It benefits from a tight collaboration to the micro-electronics and precision mechanical engineering industries which are located in the same region.

In 2009, now known as THE Machines Yvonand SA, the company enjoys an excellent reputation and owns several patents in technology innovations. It provides high efficiency equipment and serves a global customer base.

The company diversifies its activities, particularly in the areas of industrial production equipment for

  • High speed laser punching and mechanical slitting for drip irrigation pipe applications in monolayer or multilayer co-extruded plastic pipes.
  • Precision metal tubes, forming and welding of thin wall metal tubes, for industrial. medical, automotive and aerospace tube applications, with up and down-stream processes
and incorporating or as stand-alone Laser cross welding and bonding of metal alloy tapes as well as coated metal strips.
  • Complete multilayer pipes, combining metal and plastics for industrial, sanitation, heating & plumbing applications.
Launching 3 and 5-layer lines with thinnest gauge stainless steel or aluminium encompassing complete inner and outer pipe extrusion all from one hand.
  • Innovative solutions for longitudinal formed and laser welded copper, aluminium and steel shielding applications in cable production line.

The acquisition in 2011 of specialist mold manufacturer Pro Tool AG, site factory expansions in 2012 and new production facilities at Pro Tool AG in 2017 is further testimony to the continued dynamic growth and commitment of the company.

In 2021, THE Machines Yvonand SA is acquired by CAPCELLENCE and Management team THE.

Providing full turn-key pipe production lines from the water transportation systems with fully recyclable polymer reinforced lay-flat hoses, fittings and connectors and drip irrigation laterals emphasize the drive for innovation and engineering excellence.
